  al wazir: Why not 25. Bxc6, threatening to win a ♙? If 25...Bb3, then 26. Bd5.

A) If 26...Bxd5, then 27. Rxc8.

B) If 26...Bxa4, then 27. Bxf7+ Rf7 28. Rxc8+.

C) If 26...Qxd5, then 27. Nxd5 Bxa4 (27...Rxc2 28. Qxb3) 28. Rxc8.

May-23-08  jhunjk: Why not 25. Bxc6, threatening to win a pawn?

Because, 25...Rxc6, 26 Rxc6 bxc6. Now if 27 Qxc6(?) (or Rxc6) g5! 28 Nd3 or Nh3 (to defend the f2 pawn) 28...Bd5 with 29...Qf3 to follow.
