Dec-25-04  Dave Murray: What the hell? 1. a3?
Dec-25-04  chesswhizkid: 1.a3 is called the Anderssen Opening, which is a "pass" move, basically trying to be black as white. The only difference being that a later ...Bb4 or ...Nb4 will be prevented.
Feb-20-08  Knight13: 1. a3 was just Anderssen's toy.
