  plang: Another successful attempt by Adams to avoid mainline sicilian theory. He plays this game like it is a Ruy Lopez. However, in the Ruy Lopez it is not so easy for white to get f5 in. white gets his kingside attack while black doesn't really have a lot of queenside counterplay. Adams is critical of 9..Ba6 recommending 9..Bb7 instead. After 20 g4 black is already strategically lost.
