Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-29-13  Poisonpawns: What was the time control here?Definitely looks like a time related loss here for White.
Dec-29-13  hcgflynn: White has several options in move 49. For example 49. Bxc5 definitely looks good. Or 49. Bxg6/Qxg6. Or 49. Bc6+

His choice is pretty weak imo.

Sep-24-19  smendel: According to Stockfish, Adams should have tried 20 Nxe3 and tried to put pressure on the d pawn. The natural Ra8 gives white a +2 edge, allowing defensive resources to drain as a R is swapped and B pair lost. 46 Be7 instead of Ne7 allows the g pawn to fall; as hcgflynn noted, it's move 49 where Svidler errs, when capturing the g pawn was better. 50 d4 then shuts off the B while creating a target on b2, and the game should be drawn. Svidler then blunders with 60 g4 (cxb followed by Be3 was the correct defence) and white is simply helpless against the passed pawn.
