Mar-09-06  WhoKeres: Those who say Alekhine was a poor defender should play through this game. Keres just never seemed to have anything for the sacrificed pawn.
Jul-22-07  whiteshark: <WhoKeres: <... Keres just never seemed to have anything for the sacrificed pawn.>> Really ? I put a question mark against it.
Jul-22-07  whiteshark: This game was played in the last (10th) round. Keres trails by half-a-point to leading Alekhine and wants to win at any cost.
Jul-22-07  Calli: Herr Richter recommended 22.Rf6 and only then Qf4. After 22.Qf4?, the Q is in front of the rook instead of behind. Also there is nothing wrong with 24.Nxg3 which looks equal, but Keres wanted to win or else.
Jul-23-07  whiteshark: <Calli> Interesting comment.

I was looking for improvements on white's 19th move, so maybe there is something more to analyse...

Apr-03-21  tympsa: Kings gambit ? I thought it was declared as busted opening way before WWII . Tarrasch wrote : "it is almost madness to play the King's Gambit." If Keres hoped to schock with it Alechine, he had bitter disappointment. Alechine was not easily schocked or surprised by anything
