  tpstar: 9. f3!? seems positionally suspect, opening the a7-g1 diagonal, plus White had a weak Pe4 after the trading. But AAA got in 14. h4 & 15. g4 & 16. g5 nicely, then castled there (!) and traded Queens off into a level game. Note 31 ... fg? 32. Bc4+ wins the exchange (32 ... Rxc4 33. Rxd8+), thus 31 ... R4d7 and White cashed into a won R&P endgame. On 9. 0-0 Black should try 9 ... Rb8 = D Mallaghan vs H Grabher, 2006

NDVB-tpstar (FICS 2/20/07): 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Nf3 Nc6 4. d4 ed 5. Nxd4 Bb4 6. Nxc6 bxc6 7. Bd2 0-0 8. Bd3 Re8 9. f3 d5 10. 0-0 d4 11. Ne2 Bxd2 12. Qxd2 c5 13. c3 (13. Bc4) Rb8 14. Rab1?! Be6 15. a3? c4 and Black won (0-1).

Jun-10-07  micartouse: The game after 35 ... Kxf7 shows the power of connected passed pawns in a rook ending. It's a win for White, but it's tricky to assess. If the rooks were taken off the board it would be a trivial win for Black.
