Kibitzer's Corner
May-05-05  sneaky pete: Poor Treybal. 61.Be4 .. (instead of the horrible 61.f6??) wins. Sitting opposite Alekhine for 6 or 7 hours does strange things to a man.
May-05-05  Shokwave: Ouch! I wonder if he was in zietnot?
Oct-09-07  Antiochus: If 61.Be4 Qa7 62.Qe7+ necessary Qe7 63.fe7 Bg5 and the ending, almost certainly, is a black victory. Alekhine survived with calculation and tactical intelligence.

It seems 56.Be4 would indeed win for White. After 56...Qa7 57.f6+! Bg6 58.Bxg6+ Kxg6 59.f7+ Kh5 60.Qxh6+! Kxh6 61.f8Q+

White's king is safe, and the extra piece will decide.
