Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-29-05  Giancarlo: I'd be intrested to see if either player could lead their majority to an advantage.

Peligroso Patzer: This was the second game of the 1927 World Championship match. Alekhine had stunned Capablanca by winning the first game in 43 moves on the Black side of a French Winawer. Both players were readily willing to make a draw in this game, Capablanca to regain his bearings, and Alekhine to consolidate his early advantage in the match.
Jun-05-06  notyetagm: This would have been a tremendously instructive position for them to play out. Too bad match strategy made both sides accept a draw here.
Mar-02-08  Knight13: <Giancarlo: I'd be intrested to see if either player could lead their majority to an advantage.> Me too. Black would be ahead in the race on that one, I think, but no guarentee of anyone winning.
May-10-09  WhiteRook48: what the?!
Sep-24-10  soothsayer8: Wow, neither player even TRIED to win this one, no wonder this match lasted so long, by the time they got out of the opening, it was already over.
Feb-20-12  The Curious Emblem: The alternative 14... e4 15. Nd2 Nf6 16. Nb3 Nd5 17. Qc5 probably favors White. It would lead to a more interesting fight, though.
