  plang: 4 dxc and 6 exd are both lacking in ambition.
6..Qxd5 and 8..Nf6 look like improvements.
White developed a promising initiative using the e-file but Alekhine's pawn sacrifice 22..d4!? muddied the waters. Franco thought that 26 Qe4 would have maintained some edge; after Spielmann's 26 Qb3 the game petered out to a draw.
