Reisswolf's Favourite Games I love games that feature imaginative, sacrificial attacks. It is said that not all of Tal's attacks were sound. I don't care! Just as a great poem need not describe objective reality, so also a conception in chess need not be the purest axiomatic continuation of the position for the imagination of the player to shine through. Tal's dazzling play was a manifestation of his restless spirit, not to be tamed by the requirements of perfect soundness. And therein lies its appeal.
