World Rapid Championship (Women) (2016)

The 2016 FIDE Women's World Rapid Championship was a 12-round Swiss open held in the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena of Doha, Qatar, from 26-28 December. The prize fund was $40,000, with $10,000 and the title of Women's World Rapid Champion going to the winner. The time control was 15 minutes per player for all moves, with 10 seconds added per move from move 1. No playoffs to be held if players finished with the same number of points. Tournament director: Mohamad Al-Modiahki. Chief arbiter: Ashot Vardapetyan, assisted by Anastasia Sorokina.

The event was won by Anna Muzychuk, ahead of Kosteniuk (2nd) and Dzagnidze (3rd).
