malthrope: First a few selective quotes...
<sheaf: what ?? i didnt expect this!!!.. not like this i mean.. loss in 16 moves and then getting busted from the white side of najdorf!!! <rapid chess> anand is the greatest ever rapid chess player we have seen... nobody has shown the kind of dominance he had shown in the rapid chess ever..>
<yalie: Anand is going to lose rapid games this year - the last thing he wants to do is show his prep for the match. Having said that, a couple of those losses were fugly ..>
<square dance: <Anand hasn't shown that he is. He did not in Amber nor here.> anand is the strongest rapid player of all time. end of story.>

He not known as the "Lightning Kid" for nuthin' ! ;) To put this all into perspective...
This is a very useful <Rapids Ratings> list that Stefan Fischl maintains (credit to <percyblakeney> for first pointing this out to me a few years back). It's now updated from 2000-2008.
Performance in rapid games (up to 31/03/2008): http://members.aon.at/sfischl/rapid...
It clearly shows that during this period that Anand is truly on <'Top the Heap!'> ;)

At any rate, this was indeed Chucky's day! :)) His one bad game in this Rapids match-up was in game #2. However, Vishy had two bad games in game #1 and game #4 (possibly a mishap in game #3 as well but I'll wait to see some concrete analysis). That was big difference on this day! ;)
Go Chucky! :))
